Spreading knowledge: Gender sensitive budgeting – Serbia

The training took place in cycles of three two-day trainings held August 26-27, 2014 in Belgrade; November 1-3, 2013 in Banja Vrujci and March 21-23, 2014 in Belgrade during which experts from this area, apart from theory, included practical work using current budgets on state and local levels.

Regarding taking over of presiding role of Bosnia and Herzegovina over Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015 and preparation activities on the International Day of the Roma, April 8, Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina Damir Ljubić held a meeting on April 4, 2014 with representatives of the Roma Council of Ministers BiH; Indira Bajramović, Snježana Mirković and Jadranko Đurić.

Increasing of participation of Roma in decision making processes - for better life of Roma population!

USA Ambassador Brown Presents “Ambassador’s Active Citizenship Award” to Fana Delija, that CARE has been actively and directly working with and supporting Fana and CRI for over 7 years.

On March 28 Ambassador Sue K. Brown presented the Ambassador’s Active Citizenship Award to Fana Delija, Coordinator for the Center for Roma Initiatives. The award was given in recognition of Ms. Delija’s exceptional civic activism that has improved the status of Egyptian and Roma women in Montenegro.

Projects focused on Roma education!

During year 2013 seventeen organizations (six from BiH, seven from Serbia and four from Montenegro) that with their activities contribute to improvement of living conditions of Roma men and women have implemented twenty small grants in their local communities focusing on education of Roma children with special attention to girls, sexual and reproductive health of Roma women and gender based violence. Twenty projects in total were awarded in total value of €73.500,00.
