Social Inclusion through Women Economic Empowerment in Montenegro (JAKA)

In Montenegro, particularly marginalized groups such as Roma and women are heavily affected by poverty and excluded from the labor market. In cooperation with two local partner organizations from Montenegro, the project "Social Inclusion by Economic Empowerment of Women" is being implemented in the communities of Niksic and Pljevlja. The aim of the project is to improve the living conditions and social inclusion of the most marginalized women in Montenegro by promoting social entrepreneurship in the target communities. Both individual women and the two partner organizations are supported in planning and implementing sustainable and social entrepreneurial activities. In addition, these activities are to be carried as a success model by transferring them into networks in other municipalities and regions.
As part of the project, 40 Roma women are being financially and financially advised to start generating income-generating activities. A part of their financial support will then be passed on to other needy members of their community, an approach which has already proved very successful in earlier projects. The two partner organizations should also be supported in their capacity to build and lead their own social enterprises, in order to sustainably represent, advice and support the marginalized women. At the same time, workshops will also teach men the importance of women's labor market integration and provide opportunities to support this process.
