At the Science and Technology Park Niš today, contracts were signed on the allocation of grants for two social enterprises from the Jablanica District, within the project “EWI – Economic Inclusion and Justice for Women of the Western Balkans”.

Grants in the amount of 10,000 EUR each for the procurement of specialized production equipment were awarded to the social enterprise “Radanska ruža” from Lebane and the association “Naš svet” from Leskovac. The project is implemented by CARE Austria, CARE Balkans in partnership with the organization ENECA from Serbia, Tehnopolis from Montenegro, LINK Entrepreneurship Center from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Strategic Development Consulting from North Macedonia, with the support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) through funds of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

These funds are purposefully directed toward strengthening the technical capacities of organizations that, based on market principles, address the problem of unemployment among marginalized groups.

Leskovac: Ecological production and work integration

The association “Naš svet” from Leskovac, which employs young people with intellectual disabilities, invests the funds into professionalizing its production of ecological paper and packaging.

The procurement of equipment enables the transition from exclusively manual to semi-industrial product manufacturing (packaging, invitations, business cards). This creates conditions for sustainable jobs for young people with disabilities, strengthening their economic independence.

Lebane: Automation for greater competitiveness

“Radanska ruža”, an enterprise recognized for the production of ajvar and processed vegetable products, resolves a bottleneck in the finalization of its products with this grant. This enterprise primarily employs

hard-to-employ categories of women, including single mothers, women with disabilities and older women.

The procurement of equipment will significantly speed up the packaging process, reduce the percentage of label waste and enable faster product placement on the market. This directly contributes to business stability and long-term income security for women engaged in the production chain.

The EWI project continues with mentoring support to these organizations, primarily in the areas of marketing, sales and design. The goal is to ensure the long-term profitability of these investments and the independence of social enterprises on the open market.

Leskovac: Ekološka proizvodnja i radna integracija

Nabavka opreme će značajno ubrzati proces pakovanja, smanjiti procenat škarta etiketa i omogućiti brži plasman proizvoda.
