CARE organization have celebrated 75th anniversary of operation in the US. On that occasion president of the US Joe Biden said that CARE is truly remarkable organisation, while mantioning that CARE has crossed the six million mark, as delivering the six millionth CARE package in the US.

„From the very beginning in the aftermath World Word II each package provided a demonstration of greatness of our nature and is matched by our fundamental goodness as a people. People whose generosity helped feed the hungry, heal the sick, and lift up people in communities all around the world. Today that work continues. I’m proud to announce that as of today, CARE has crossed the six million mark, as delivering the six millionth CARE package right here in the US. This is a truly remarkable moment, coming from a truly remarkable organization. Let’s remember, the job isn’t over. So tonight I ask you to land a hand send a CARE package. Do what we can to eliminate human suffering. Keep sending those messages of CARE”, said Biden.

CARE was set up in the USA in 1945 under the name Cooperative for American Remittances to Europe to respond to the devastation and scarcity World War 2 had wrought.

CARE has grown a lot in 75 years – now working in 100 countries to find long-term solutions to poverty and to support women and girls to overcome inequality – but the spirit of human kindness, present in those first CARE packages all that time ago, remains at the heart of everything we do.
