WEERA- Women Economic Empowermant in Rural Areas

Women Economic Empowerment in Rural Areas (WEERA) project was designed to address the structural and socioeconomic barriers faced by women farmers in rural West of Kosova. With a focus on fostering gender equality and economic empowerment, the project implemented a range of targeted interventions to equip women with essential skills, financial resources, and social awareness. By addressing key issues such as unemployment, lack of ownership, limited business skills, and insufficient civic participation, the WEERA project contributed to building sustainable livelihoods and promoting inclusive socioeconomic development. Within this project: • 19 beneficiaries received direct support from the project through grants
• 40 days of training were conducted in capacity-building and gender
• 48 women benefited in these trainings
• 7 beneficiaries were assisted in promoting their products in national TV, increasing market reach
• Participation of the beneficiaries for two years in agriculture fair, strengthening their clientele and creating B2B opportunities.
• 430 community members from the target area participated in local dialogues for awareness raising promoting agro-business women model and women’s economic and civic participation
