11 women led businesses from four municipalities in Kosovo: Prishtina/Priština, Graçanica/Gračanica, Ferizaj/Uroševac and Junik received beehives and professional honey extraction equipment within CARE’s “IWKA – Including Women in Kosovo’s Agribusiness” project.
The granted equipment will serve women to instantly generate income and support their families as family leaders.
The grant beneficiaries are additionally supported with trainings for operational management of their businesses and technical advice from specialists in the field of beekeeping, which includes good practices in bee management, disease and parasite control, as well as production techniques for other products such as honey, propolis, etc.
The project “IWKA – Including Women in Kosovo’s Agribusiness” funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), strives for improving the economic position of women in Kosovo society – increasing women’s access to financial resources, opportunities for employment and increased income and expanding skills in financial management, for informed business decisions.
