Free services of preventive examinations on the field provided by the Center for Prevention of the Health Center in Vranje have been suspended with the declaration of a pandemic. Within the project “CARE FOR WESTERN BALKANS RESPONSE TO COVID-19” nongovermental organization NEXUS Vranje has provided devices for measuring blood pressure and sugar, as well as the other necessary protective equipment. Their volunteers Olivera Kurtić Idić, Marija Raimović and Tereza Šainović, who are medical workers by profession, are now able to meet the needs of people from their community.
They regularly organize individual and group measurements of blood pressure and sugar in Gornja Čaršija, the largest Roma settlement in Vranje. Gatherings are performed in accordance with the prescribed prevention measures in the ceded space. Preventive examinations are always used to disseminate information on the prescribed methods of protection against the virus.
