Representatives of the Citizens Association “Budućnost” and the municipality of Modriča signed today the contract on the handover of equipment worth 13,724.95 KM.

Namely, it is equipment that is intended for emergency humanitarian interventions, and it is consisted of: three backpack motorized sprayers, two protective suits, two pairs of boots, two helmets, two safety ropes, 570 protective masks, 11 beds with mattresses, computer, GPS system and two hand-held and one fixed radio station.

“Cooperation with the municipality of Modriča on this project began in November 2021, after which it was agreed in December to support Civil Protection in response to emergency situations, especially with regard to the target groups included in the project, namely women, the elderly and people with disabilities. We are very pleased that we were able to support our local community and provide equipment that will improve work and facilitate intervention in crisis situations”, said Biljana Savičić, director of UG “Budućnost”.

On behalf of the municipality of Modriča, the agreement on the handover of the equipment was signed by mayor Jovica Radulović, who expressed his gratitude for the donated equipment and expressed the hope that the equipment will be used as little as possible, that is, that it will be used only for preventive purposes when it comes to protecting and saving lives. and property.

According to the project implementation plan, the donated equipment will provide assistance to around 700 users.

“Thanks to the very good cooperation with the Municipality of Modriča and through joint meetings, we were able to define the most priority items that are needed for dealing with crisis situations. I am convinced that all the acquired equipment will be useful both to members of marginalized groups who are the target group of the project, and to the rest of the population of the municipality of Modriča”, said Ana Cvijanović, project coordinator.

The signing of the donation agreement with the municipality of Modriča was also attended by Branislav Tanasijević on behalf of CARE International in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This activity is part of the project “Covid-19 Nexsus response for improving the socio-economic situation of marginalized people in 6 Western Balkans countries”, which is carried out by CARE international in BiH, with the support of the Austrian Development Cooperation.
