Cooperation with CARE International Balkan and the Austrian Development Agency continues to focus on supporting civil society organizations working to develop social enterprises. This time the cooperation is reflected in the procurement of a fruit and vegetable drying machine, an industrial sink and a product sorting table for social enterprise „Eko-Budućnost“ from Modriča.
This donation is part of the project “Enhanced social protection by building capacities of the civil society organizations (CSOs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina” which CARE International Balkan implements with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency. A main goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the „Eko-budućnost“ with the aim of economic empowerment of women victims of gender-based violence.
Since most victims of violence are not able to leave the violent community for economic reasons, the Association “Budućnost” helps to establish a social enterprise, and in accordance with the possibilities and projects, awards grants in the form of greenhouses, strawberry seedlings and the like.
„The Association “Budućnost” is an organization that has been dealing with the protection of human rights since its inception with a special focus on women’s human rights. One of the important segments of its work is certainly the economic independence of women victims of gender-based violence, so this project will greatly help our social enterprise with the aim of supporting this marginalized group “, pointed out Jelena Mišić, director of the Association ” Budućnost “.
