CARE INTERNATIONAL OFFICE IN KOSOVO LAUNCHES A CALL FOR PAID INTERNSHIP/ON-THE-JOB TRAINING FOR 50 YOUNG PEOPLE

With the aim of increasing the opportunities for the economic inclusion of young people and raising their status in society, CARE, in cooperation with the Employment Agency of the Republic of Kosovo (EARK), announces this call for a paid internship and on-the-job training for 50 young graduates from university and upper secondary school. The internship/on-the-job training program will be held in local companies offering employment opportunities, for a duration of 6 months (part-time) and will be governed according to domestic law.
What is the internship?
The internship provides participants the opportunity to gain the necessary experience in the work environment to begin work in a particular occupation or career field. This measure is provided with the aim to increase participants’ skills and prospects for employment, providing access to the work environment, and creating experience and contacts with employers in order to improve future employment opportunities.
- Regarding this call, the internship will last 6 months. The compensation amount is €250 monthly salary (gross).
What is on-the-job training?
On-the-job training is an active labor market measure aimed at providing participants with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to perform specific jobs within the work environment. On-the-job training is provided to enhance the employment prospects of the registered unemployed by acquiring basic knowledge and skills to perform a task while engaged.
- Regarding this call, the internship will last 6 months. The compensation amount is €250 monthly salary (gross).
Who can benefit?
All job seekers have the right to benefit from these two measures under the following conditions:
For internship:
- All the unemployed and graduates from high school and university, aged 18-24 years from the eight target municipalities of the project: Decan, Fushe Kosove, Junik, Gjakove, Peja, Rahovec, Obiliq, and Suhareke.
- All registered (active) unemployed graduates from vocational schools, VTC, higher education institutions, and other vocational training accredited by the National Qualifications Authority have the right to be part of the internship.
For on-the-job training:
- All registered and active unemployed in the target municipalities have the right to be part of this measure.
- The unemployed with the right to apply from the target municipalities of the project.
Who can NOT benefit from this measure?
The unemployed
The unemployed are not entitled to benefit if:
- They are not registered in the employment office and are not active;
- They have close family relations with the employer;
Special attention will be given to young people from the target rural areas of the project and women, who are strongly encouraged to apply!

Interested applicants must submit a CV, cover letter (maximum one page, expressing their qualification/experience and capacities), diplomas, and confirmation of their registration with the Employment Office of (EARK).

Deadline for application
The application will be open from 21.03.2023 to 15.04.2023.
Selection process
The applicants will be selected by the Project Selection Committee, which will consider the fulfillment of the criteria mentioned above in this call and will match the professional profiles of the applicants with employment opportunities in local businesses. If deemed relevant, the Selection Committee may invite applicants for an interview.
