Round table “Common responsibility for community welfare”, in organisation of the Center for Responsible Democracy COD „Luna“ and the Association of Citizens for the Promotion of Roma Education „OTAHARIN“, was held today in Rudo.
The aim of the round table is to open a dialogue between the partners and improve the understanding of the specifics and potential of the development of social entrepreneurship in Rudo.
„By developing a new agricultural cooperative Creative Vision in Rudo and through campaign “Social Entrepreneurship – Joint Responsibility for the Welfare of the Community” we want to interest institutions and other actors to contribute to the development of the cooperative where hard-to-employ, marginalized citizens of Rudo municipality can find job. The law on social entrepreneurship will be adopted, we hope this year, but we should not mind helping all those who care for the most endangered“, said Branislav Tanasijević, project manager of CARE International Balkans.
Tanasijević said that CARE International Balkans helped register the cooperative Creative Vision, within Austrian development agency project “Enhancing social protection by building capacities of the civil society organizations (CSOs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
„LUNA managed to rent a plot and plant a rosehip last November. This spring, we are expecting works on fencing, planting and cultivating the land and solving irrigation, where we received a promise from the mayor of Rudo that the municipality will solve it. All of the above indicates that there will be a lot of engagement of the population from the village of Štrpci where the rosehip plantation is located. I hope that a lot of products will be produced and bought for the purpose of processing into juices or jams, because the new cooperative is also engaged in these activities with its line for processing fruits and vegetables, which is located in the cooperative Uvac”, councluded Tanasijević.
In order to promote the benefits of social entrepreneurship for the development of the local community, „Otaharin“ conducts activities in the area of the local communities of Bijeljina, Modriča, Rudo and Bratunac.
Social entrepreneurship contributes to the development and well-being of the local community by promoting social responsibility and supporting the most vulnerable members of society.
In order for social entrepreneurship to achieve the maximum positive effect, it is necessary that other relevant actors in the local community, such as institutions, companies, non-governmental organizations are directly involved in creating a favorable climate for the functioning of social entrepreneurship.
The situation caused by the COVID-19 epidemic has once again shown that social entrepreneurship and solidarity are essential for providing timely support.
That is why we invite you to come and follow the thoughts and dialogue at the round table in the media in order to exchange experiences, important information and consider the potential for future cooperation.
This activity is part of the project “Enhancing social protection by building capacities of the civil society organizations (CSOs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, funded by the Austrian Development Agency with funds from the Austrian Development Cooperation and implemented in BiH by CARE International.
