Cross Border Cooperation


7 representatives of Roma Integration Council and the Coordination Body for Monitoring for Implementation of the Strategy for Social Inclusion of Roma; Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia; Office for Human and Minority Rights - Group for Improvement of Position of Roma and Assistance to Migrants; Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy – Department of Anti-discrimination Policy and Promotion of Gender Equality;  Protector of Citizens for Children's Rights and Gender Equality of the Government of the Republic of Serbia; Ministry of Civil Engineering, Transport and Infrastructure and the Roma Women's Center "BIBIJA" Belgrade, Republic of Serbia had the opportunity to visit Montenegro from October 8 – 10, 2017 and to speak with representatives of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro; The Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro (Ombdusmen); Office for Fight Against Trafficking in Human Beings Montenegro; Chairwomen of the Gender Equality Committee and members of the Montenegrin coalition: Police Department - Nikšić Security Center and Nikšić Social Work Center, Defence Center Nikšić - Daily Center for Children Living and Working on the Street, as well as FAIR II Partners Center for Roma Initiatives Nikšić.

The purpose of this study visit was to present the best practices within the project. In Montenegro, the Center for Roma Initiative in Nikšić for many years has worked in cooperation with the institutions of the system in the country to prevent early juvenile marriages. And it was important for us all to get acquainted
