The conference “Through commitment and inspiration for positive change and a life of equal opportunities” on the occasion of the completion of the regional project “For active inclusion and rights of Roma women in the Western Balkans III” was held today in Podgorica, Montenegro.
“The project marked the work in three countries in the region, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia, with representatives of 6 partner organizations, and it covered over 100,000 beneficiaries, implemented over 4,500 activities and provided more than 10,000 services to beneficiaries”, said Maja Petek, project coordinator of CARE International Balkans.
The results of a regional project focused on improving the living conditions of the Roma population in Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia, especially focused on Roma women and Roma girls in the communities where they live, were presented to the media.
During the implementation of the project in direct work with beneficiaries, more than 20,000 direct services were provided, which solved some of the many problems of Roma population in the field of health, problems of underage marriages, security, health and education etc.
The project “For Active Inclusion and the Rights of Roma Women in the Western Balkans III” is financially supported by the Austrian Development Agency and implemented by CARE International Balkans.
