CARE International Balkans, Office in Kosovo, in partnership with the local organization SHL-Kosova has launched the “Kosovo Youth Participation” – KYP project, funded by the European Union.
On April 29, 2022, CARE International, Office in Kosovo organized the kick-off event to present the project idea. CARE Project Manager, Merita Bytyçi Kelmendi, who presented the overall objectives of the project showed that the project aims to contribute to the active involvement of civil society in Kosovo in promoting democratic values, inclusive governance and the implementation of fundamental human rights and freedoms.
More specifically, the project will promote democratic participation, civic engagement and social inclusion of various groups of marginalized youth in Kosovo, especially from rural areas and small towns of municipalities: Deçan/Dečani, Fushë Kosova/Kosovo Polje, Junik/Junik, Gjakova/Đakovica, Peja/Peć, Rahovec/Orhaovac, Obiliq/Obilić and Suharekë/Suva Reka.
Present at this event was also the Director of the Department of Youth in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Mr. Xhevat Bajrami, who confirmed his cooperation with CARE in the implementation of the project in the target municipalities.
The Director of the Department of Youth in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Mr. Bajrami emphasized the importance of such projects and the opportunities they will create for the youth of Kosovo.
