Young Men Initiative regional youth camp started on 5th of July in ethno village Sunčeva reka in Serbia, in organization of CARE International Balkans and partner associations of Roma women Osvit from Niš (Republic of Serbia), Center for Roma Initiatives from Niksić (Montenegro) and the Association of Citizens for the Promotion of Roma Education Otaharin from Bijeljina (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
The camp is an activity of the project For Active Inclusion and the Rights of Roma Women in the Western Balkans III, funded by the Austrian Development Agency, and will be held till 9th of July.
Through a combination of educational workshops and a campaign to promote healthy lifestyles, the Y program, which is one of the themes of this camp, helps young people to more easily cope with the problems they face growing up and grow into healthy young people.
“Some of the topics we will cover at the camp include problem solving, personal development, the basics and values of understanding leadership. We will use various methodologies that include external activities (or team building) and educational and creative workshops designed to develop new skills and ideas in young people, “said Jadranka Miličević, project manager of CARE International Balkans.
In addition to these activities, the camp offers opportunities for physical activities, from sports such as football and basketball to swimming, etc. The goal is to promote healthy behaviors that contribute to healthy lifestyles.
