20 grants contracts were signed to support agricultural businesses and startups of women from Prishtina/Priština, Graçanica/Gračanica, Ferizaj/Uroševac and Junik, within the framework of the CARE Balkans project “IWKA – Including Women in Kosovo’s Agribusiness”.

The average value of in-kind grants was 10,000EUR, sufficient for realization of beneficiaries’ long-term business ideas in agriculture, generation of income and building conditions to employ other women in their businesses.

Apart from this donation, the project will organize continuous trainings, exchange visits and coaching to enhance agricultural and business skills of the supported women, seeking to maximize their potential for growth and become leaders in their communities.

From its start in March 2022, IWKA project has already awarded 69 women with grants. An additional call is planned to be scheduled for further support of women to initiate their business ideas in agriculture.

The project “Inclusion of Women in Kosovo Agribusiness – IWKA” is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Cooperation and Economic Development (BMZ) through Engagement Global gGmbH, and implemented by CARE International and local partner organizations: Kosovo-Women 4 Women (K-W4W) and the Civil Right Program Kosovo (CRP/K).
